Angioplasty is a procedure used to treat and manage cardiovascular-related diseases. One of the problems in people with heart-related diseases is the buildup of plaque. It is a fatty substance that slowly builds up in the arteries throughout the body. The problem with plaque buildup is it slows down or even stops the flow of blood through the arteries. Plaque can clog the artery causing the vital organs in the body to be deprived of oxygen, which is essential in performing various bodily processes.
